Glorious lakes and streams are enveloped with hundreds of magnificent species of grand old trees. Six hundred acres will offer abundant hiking along the shores of the Saugahatchee Lake. Conveniently located in Opelika, Alabama, it's just eight minutes from Auburn University, 90 minutes from Atlanta and Anniston and a two-hour drive from Birmingham.

The Lodge and Conference Center at Grand National will indulge its guests with the finest mix of business meets pleasure. The Lodge and Conference Center offers a technologically advanced conference environment paired with award-winning championship golf, miles of hiking, relaxing by the indoor/outdoor pool or exercising at the health club. Fine and casual dining is offered in the restaurant or on the fairways.

The Lodge features 129 guest rooms, including one Presidential Suite, eight executive suites and six junior suites. All rooms have high-speed Internet access, a desk, oversize marble bathrooms with separate Jacuzzi tub and shower and some of the most comfortable beds you've ever slept on. As for the view, we hope you like golf since 122 of the 129 rooms overlook the award-winning Grand National course.

In 1993, Golf Digest named the Robert Trent Jones Grand National 54-hole championship golf course among America's Top 10 Affordable Golf Courses, offering public golf with greens fees ranging from $35-$55.

Grand National, which was designed by perhaps the best modern-day golf course designer in the world, Robert Trent Jones, has been the host site for such notable events as the 1997 Nike Tour Championship, 1998 LPGA Tournament of Champions, the 2000 NCAA Men's Division I Golf Championship and the NCAA Women's Golf Fall Preview in September 2003.

Deluxe Guest Rooms

Each deluxe guest room is equipped with either one King bed or two Queen beds. Each room features a work desk with ergonomic chair, 27 inch TV's with in room movies, games, and internet access. Coffee makers are provided with complimentary coffee and tea. Baths feature separate shower and garden tub. Most rooms have balconies with views of Lake Saugahatchee and the Grand National Links course.

Executive Suites

Our beautifully appointed Executive Suites feature all the amenities of our deluxe rooms plus a separate living and bedroom area, expansive balcony or patio area, and oversized bathrooms with separate shower and garden tub. Bathrobes are provided as well. Sofa sleepers are in the living room and a King size bed for the bedroom.

Executive Kitchen Suites

These suites feature a kitchen area with microwave, full size refrigerator, and wet bar. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, glasses, and flatware. A large living room separate from the bedroom is perfect for entertaining small groups. Expansive outside balconies and separate shower and garden tub and bathrobes are also included. A sofa sleeper is in the living room and a King size bed for the bedroom.

Presidential Suite

Our premier suite. This suite features an oversized bathroom with separate shower and garden tub, bathrobes, and a smaller half bath. A large entry foyer brings you into the living room with a beautiful, gas fireplace and sofa sleeper. A large kitchen and dining table is perfect for entertaining. Double balconies and a King size bed for the bedroom. This room can be rented as a two bedroom suite with the purchase of an adjoining guest room with two queen beds.

The Lodge and Conference Center at Grand National represents the ultimate in mixing business with pleasure. There are 15,000 square feet of meeting space and an event management team to make sure everything goes smoothly.

The Lodge offers an incredible 96-seat amphitheater, nicknamed The Star Wars Room, for corporations or associations planning important meetings and conferences. Each seating area in the amphitheater is wired to the Internet with T-1 lines. There's a stage for corporate presentations, a 3000 ANSI Lumen LCD projector and a 10-foot screen to view PowerPoint or videos.

Need something a little smaller for your meeting? Check out the three executive boardrooms and three additional meeting rooms. Many of these rooms feature 43-inch Plasma screens for watching computer-generated presentations and comfortable high-back leather chairs.

The Lodge also offers a beautiful Grand Ballroom for 400 people. The Grand Ballroom can be sectioned off to create three smaller ballrooms. Meeting room/guest room combination rates provide affordable luxury accommodations.

Award winning chefs preside over every detail of the menu insuring that every dining experience is just that... an experience. The Lodge offers the finest cuisine combining the time-honored flavors of the South with traditional American techniques in two beautiful settings, The Lakeview Dining Room and The Fairways Lounge. Each dining venue offers delicious favorites and creative dishes to tempt any palate.

Our culinary staff can also make your special occasions memorable. From retirement parties, to wedding receptions, after rehearsal dinners to anniversaries The Lodge at Grand National offers a variety of venues and menus to compliment any occasion.

Lakeview Restaurant features the culinary creations of Executive Chef Peter Idsall. The menu is an eclectic mix of fine steaks, seafood, and game dishes. Reservations for dinner and Sunday Brunch are recommended. We also feature a seafood and prime rib buffet every Friday evening. Dress is resort casual.
