234-mi./376.5-km waterway flows through west Alabama and offers variety of some of most modern recreational facilities available, including camping at Pickensville and Aliceville, boating, fishing, hunting.

Related attractions

One of the last steam-powered sternwheelers to ply Southern rivers. Served U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, from 1926–1982. Restored to former operating appearance. Contains interpretive exhibits.
Housed in reproduction of Greek Revival antebellum home (1830–1860). Exhibits describe life in Tombigbee River Valley. U.S. Snagboat Montgomery, one of last steam-powered stern-wheel boats to ply Southern rivers, adjacent to Center.
