Talladega

When most people think of Talladega, they immediately think of the MuseumsTalladega Superspeedway, the largest and fastest speedway in the world. But in addition to the fast track, Talladega is home to a lovely downtown with its historic Talladega Ritz Theater, and Cheaha State Park, where you’ll find boundless recreational opportunities as well as the highest point in Alabama. It’s also home to a unique brand of Southern hospitality experienced by hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.

Country’s most comprehensive education and rehabilitation program for deaf and blind children and adults. Campus buildings notably restored include Manning Hall (1850), Jemison House (1898) and Grace Hall (1878).

Historic Oakwood was built in 1847. The owner was Alexander Bowie, who was a lawyer and politician. After Civil War, Alexander Bowie organized and commanded a "Talladega Mountain Rangers" company.
