The Wildlife Center

Clinic for orphaned and injured native wildlife, plus educational facility to foster appreciation of Alabama's creatures. View rehabilitation process of various raptors, mammals, birds and reptiles.

The Understudy Dinner Theater, Inc.

Home of Grits on the Side Dinner Theatre, an original Southern review featuring songs and skits about Southern stereotypes. Also other productions in small cabaret setting. Tour groups welcome. Located in historic downtown district.

The Oaks

Family home of Booker T. Washington, founder and 1st president of Tuskegee University. Built in 1899 by students and faculty using bricks made by students. Contains original and period furniture.

Tennessee Valley Art Center

The centerpiece of the art center's Native American exhibit is the petroglyph carved into a 3,000-pound sandstone boulder more than 1,000 years ago. The images of feet and snakes were perhaps a "family portrait" of early inhabitants of Colbert County. The elegant stone carving is displayed in an interpretive bluff shelter setting to honor the legacy of Southeastern Native Americans."
